The old city walls
The old city walls were built with brick and mortar on all 4 sides.
There were ramparts with boundary markers. On each corner stood a fortress, the north and south walls each had a gate called the Northern Triumphant Gate or Pratoo Chaisak and the Southern Triumphant Gate or Pratoo Chaisit, respectively. The size of the city measured according to the walls was 2238.50 x 456.50 meters. Next to the wall were the moats. On the northern side of the wall was Klong Noi (or what is now called Klong Nahmuang) that was dug to go into the Gulf of Thailand.
