Surat Thani ( Place to Visit )

Koh Samui is the third largest island of Thailand after Phuket and Koh Chang ( Trat province ). The island is located about 84 kilometers from Surat Thani province and is well known for the top tourist attraction in the world. Koh Samui offers plenty of attractions, the most famous and popular attraction is white sandy beaches with coconut trees along the beaches as well as other tropical plants. Chaweng beach has white sandy beach with clear water and ideal for swimming. Variety of restaurants, shops or fantastic night life are offer in this beach.
Next 10 km to the south of Chaweng beach is Lamai beach, is well known of beautiful wide curve bay with coconut tress around , the sea here is little rougher. The beach is little peace atmosphere than Chaweng beach.
If you looking for the most beautiful sunset point on the island, Taling Ngam Beach is the answer of what are you looking for with beautiful sunset behind the Ang Thong Marine National Park. It is located on the west coast of Koh Samui , the area is not crowed as other beaches on the island.

On the north side of island is the locate of Big Buddha with its 12-meter Buddha statue , the famous landmark on Bophut Beach. The beach is has long 2 kilometre with sandy beach. The water of the bay is clear and clam make the visitor fell relaxing and enjoy the scenery of the island.
In addition, the other variety of natural resources as waterfall (Na Muang I and Na Muang II), tropical rainforest, adventure , night life entertainment and convenience for transportation from mainland are attractive and nowadays become one heavily tourist vacations destination in Thailand.


Travel to Koh Samui by Air
There are 2 airlines operate service route from Bangkok to Samui Island Thai airways and cheap Thai airline Bangkok airways . Traveling time is approximately 1.05-1.30 hr depend on flight.

Passenger who travels from Bangkok to Surat Thani airport can buy the ticket from reservation desk at the airport. Normally the ticket will sell inclusive both bus or van transfer and ferry or speedboat together.

  • Lompraya speed Boat co, Ltd operates service from Tapi port to Samui or Phan Ngan Island. Traveling time from Tapi port to Samui Island is approximately 45 minutes.
Travel to Koh Samui by bus or Train
Vister can buy the ticket from reservation desk to Koh samui at train station or Surat Thani Bus terminal

Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park These beautiful group islands in Gulf of Thailand is located 25 km from the northwest of Koh Samui, consist of about 40 islands such as Koh Wua Ta Lap, Koh Mae Ko, Koh Prayat, Koh Sam Sao, Koh Nai Put and Koh Wua Te. Among each island have beautiful white sandy beaches and some islands as Koh Sam Sao has fantasist span of coral reef and a huge rock arch offer scenic fascination. The group islands are popular for beautiful scenery, lakes, cliffs, caves and variety of bird nests. The under water world with some group of rocks and coral reefs are home of marine species. Travel to Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park
Visitor who wants to travel to Mu Koh Ang Thong Marine National Park can depart from Koh Samui ferry port daily at 08.30 am and spend around 2 hr on journey. On return from National park to Koh Samui is depart at 03.00 pm .

Koh Phangan is a famous island is located 30 km to the north of Koh Samui or 100 km from Surat Thani. It is top tourist destinations for tourist to visit once is you have a chance to south Thailand vacations. The atmosphere is quite and relaxation from natural resource and trees along the beach is an ideal for travelers who prefer less crowed. However, the full moon party on the island has long been known among local tourists and foreigners. The island has many tourist attractions such as Than Sadet Waterfall. The waterfall has been given name by King Chulalongkorn, Rama V and made return visit 14 times.

Phaeng Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall consist on many tiers and always has water throughout the year. Visitor is possible walk to Dome Sila view point to enjoy scenery sunset.
Thong Sala is the largest community on the island for transport and travel. The ferry port , motorcycle rental , restaurant and accommodations are available here.

Travel to Koh Phangan
Travel to Koh Phangan can be several routes.
Raja ferry co, Ltd operates service from Donsak port -Koh Phangan Route about 2 hours 30 minutes.

Lompraya speed Boat co, Ltd operates service from Tapi port to Samui or Phan Ngan Island. Traveling time from Tapi port to Samui Island is approximately 45 minutes.

Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan - Koh Tao is located on 45 km from north of Koh Pha ngan. This small 20 sq km island is famous for diving in the gulf of Thailand, eight kilometers of coral reefs with deep sea, crystal clear water among the scenery of mountain and coconut tree are perfect for diving lover. The island is look like half moon shape and beautiful landscape with various bays and rocky headlands around.

It is possible for kayaking, swimming, motorcycling or climbing hills for island view. Don’t miss the chance to visit the near by island, Koh Nang Yuan which is 15 minutes away by boat, the island is a rich marine life similar to Koh Toa but also can get different felling from variety of corals as it is one of perfect spot for snorkeling around.

Travel to Koh Tao
Travel to Koh Tao is possible to depart from Chumphon ans Surat Thani province.
Ferry leave from Chumphon has both Express and special express service and boat speed boat speedboat from multiple providers, such as sleep.Travel time is about 1 hr. Information for Lompraya co, Ltd .Tel +662629 2569-70
Depart from Surat Thani port is possible but it take about 3 hr journey from Koh Samui. Recommend to leavet from Chumphon is better choice to visit Koh Tao.

Khao Sok National Park is cover the largest ​​tropical rainforest in south of Thailand. The park is natural beauty of the forest and limestone mountain ranges combine with wide range water from ratchaprapa dam become the beautiful islands scenery for visitors.


The place is called. "Guilin in Thailand" from the different range of the cliff along the limestone same as Gulin in China. In the park area has waterfalls (Mae Yai and Sip Ed Chan )which can reach by car and possible to trekking to caves or creeks around. Another popular point is Khao Sok, it create the beautiful wildlife, various plant species or variety wild animal as elephants, leopards, serow, banteng and over 180 bird species are worthy to be found in the area.

Travel to Khao Sok National Park
Travel by car from Bangkok to the southern route through by using Highway no 41 to Chaiya District through the Punpin district intersection. At Punpin district turn right to Highway no 401 ( Surat Thani- Takua pa ) drive through Bgantakun district till km no 109 and turn right. Total distance from start km no 109 to the national park office about 1.5 km.
Travel from Surat Thani or Phang Nga use Highway no 401 until intersection for national park at km no 109 and turn right and drive to the national park office about 1.5 km.

Phra Borom That Chaiya is a statue of Lord Buddha's relics which contains the Buddha Sanctuary in Thailand. The temple is one of the third important temple in south of Thailand. It consists of Phra Borom That Chaiya, Wat Phra Mahathat Nakhon Si Thammarat and Wat Khuhaphimuk of Yala. The architect is influence of Srivijaya style and remain in the best condition at the present. The temple has been assumed as built in Buddhist year 13-14, not shown in the history about builder. Along the courtyard of the chedi are several sculptures and Buddha images.

If driving from Bangkok to Chumphon along Highway no 41 passes through the Thachana district intersection until Chaiya district intersection . At Chiya district drive until Highway no 4011 for about 2 km.





Visitor by train can take bus from train sattion to Phra Borom That Chaiya for the distance of 2 km.





Visitor by bus from southern bus terminal Bangkok pass through Chumphon will via Phra Borom That Chaiya every buses.
