Phatthalung (พัทลุง)

Phatthalung is located in the south of Thailand on the west coast of Songkhla lake and about 850 km from Bangkok. The province geography and history itself is closely link to Songkhla. Phatthalung is regarded as the birthplace of Nang Talung, shadow-puppet play and the Nora dance. In addition, Patthalung also well known in natural beauty attraction for instance the unique landmark Thale Noi Waterfowl Park, which is the largest of its kind in Thailand. There you can see different types of water plants, birds and herds of swimming buffalos. By January and February are the months when thousands of birds from north come to Thale Noi to spend some time there. Khao Ok Talu  is also another landmark of Patthalung , the mountain is about 250 metres high. The hole near the top of the mountain become the symbol which the visitors can see through for the good experience  panoramic view of Phatthalung province.

East : Songkhla Lake, Ranot, Krasae Sin, Sathing Phra, and Singhanakhon in Songkhla
West : Nakhon Si Thammarat (Banthat) mountain range, Huai Yot, Muang Trang, Na Yong, Yan Ta Khao, and Palian in Trang

 

Travel to Phatthalung

By Car

The easiest way to go to Phattalung by car is using Phetchakasem Highway No. 4 to Chumphon . At Chumphon province change to Highway No. 41 to Phatthalung. The total distance is about 846 km.The information about Thai car hire.

Phatthalung does not have an airport but can be accessed via airports in nearby provinces including Hat Yai ( Thai airways and cheap Thai airline Nok air, Airasia, Orient Thai )and Trang( cheap Thai airline Nok air, Airasia, Orient Thai ) and transfer to Phatthalung province by bus or van.
