Trang ( Place to Visit )

Trang sea map Koh Mook The name of Koh Mook may not well know as Morakot Cave (Emerald Cave) as the cave is the most attraction place for visitors for journey to Trang. Koh Mook is a large island with surrounding with many small islands, however it is the trird rank large island in Trang sea taken care by Had Chao Mai National Park and Koh Libong. The island is well known of high cliffs coast, beautiful beach with untouched natural surrounding. The people who live in the island are Muslim who earn living by fishing. growing para rubber and coconut trees

Emerald Cave (Morakot Cave ) is located on the west side of Koh Mook and become one of the fantastic place to visit in Thailand. The cave can be reaching only by boat and has an entrance on the bottom of high-rising cliffs which is narrow but wide enough ( not more than 10 m ) for boats to pass through during low tide about and 80 m long . Most of the visitors prefer to swim one by one into the entrance cave, after pass to the other side the reflection of the sea create the emerald color from the sunlight of the midday will straight through the mouth of the funnel.

How to go to Koh Mook

The island is about 9 km from Kuan Tung Ku Pier ,the North West of Hat Chao Mai National Park. The visitors can use boat service from Kuan Tung Ku Pier and about 40 baht charge per person. It takes about 30 min to Koh Mook and you need to rent a long tail boat to Morakot Cave( about 100 baht per person). Another way is to rent the boat from Pak Meng Pier straight to Morakot Cave at Koh Muk. The rate is 1800 baht/day talking about 40 minutes.

 

Koh Ngai is one of the attractions of Trang sea, The island is actually located in Krabi province as same as Rok Island. Koh Ngai is located only 12 kilometers from Koh Lanta, Krabi and 15 kilometers from Pak Meng Pier, Trang Province. The visitor can take the trip from Pak Meng pier easier.

Koh Ngai is close to other attractions of the Trang Sea, just 1.5 kilometers away from Koh Mar, just 3 kilometers from Koh Chuek. Koh Ngai has measure about 4*2 kilometers with white sand beach, fantastic corral and the coast is covered by coconut palms.

How to go to Koh Ngai

The visitors can use Speed ​​Boat service operating daily from Pak Meng. It will take a trip from Pak Meng Pier - Koh Ngai about 20 minutes.

 

Koh Rok  Rok Island has long beaches with white sandy. The island is suitable for tourist who looking for quite and romantic natural. This is a fine swimming area while it is perfect coral reef and under water world. The island is taken care under Lanta National park as same as Koh Ngai but is the last tourist destination boundary of Trang Sea. Koh Rok comprises two islands namely Koh Rok and Nok and Koh Rok Nai. The distance between the two islands is about 250 m cut across by the water channel while the two sandy beaches of each island confront each other as a beautiful sunset point.

How to go to Koh Rok 

By public boat of Libong Travel (package) leaving Pak Meng Pier at 09.00 hr and departing Koh Rok at 14.00 hr. It takes about 2.30 hours between Koh Rok and Pak Meng Pier. There is also the package tour from Saladan Pier at Koh Lanta to Koh Rok by speedboats or long tail boat. It takes about 1.30 hours by long tail boats.

 

Koh Kradan is one of the most beautiful island in Trang and most of the island belongs to Hat Chao Mai National Park. The powdery white beach and crystal-clear water that permits a great view of the coral reef underneath that stretches from the beach's northern end to the coast are attractive for all visitors. A variety of colorful fish inhabit the shallow water corals making the site perfect for snorkeling.

How to go to Koh Rok 

Koh Kradan is to the west of Koh Muk and Koh Libong. Visitors can take a boat from Pak Meng Pier to Koh Kradan. The trip takes 1.30 hours.

 

Chao Mai National Park covers Kantang district and Sikao District of Trang province.  The national park is famous tropical Rain Forest, Lime stone Forest, Beach Forest and Mangrove Forest. The marine ecosystem iDungong  at Chao Mai National Parks Coral reef and is included in 137 square  kilometers of sea. The sea area has some 8 kinds of sea grass Between Koh Muk and Koh Yong Ling which provides a home to Dugong which may be the last group of Dungong in Thailand. The national park consist of various attractions Chang Lang Beach, San Beach, Pak Meng Beach ,Yao Beach, Yong Ling Beach, Chao Mai Beach. Moreover, there are 7 other islands in the Trang Sea for which the park is responsible. They are Ko Muk, Ko Kradan, Ko Chuak, Ko Pling, Ko Waen, Ko Meng, and Ko Chao Mai.

How to go to Chao Mai National Park

From Trang province take highway no 4046 (Trang - Sikao) to Highway no 30, turn left to local Highway No. 4162 to Pak Meng Beach, distance about 40 kilometers. At Pak Meng Beach, turn left and follow along the beach road, about 7 kilometers to the Hat Chao Mai National Park. Total distance 47 kilometers.
